William W. Sutton

Executive Vice President and Director, The BB&T Leadership Institute

As Executive Vice President and Director, Will Sutton leads The BB&T Leadership Institute in delivering leadership development and human resources programs and services to large corporations throughout the United States. In addition, the Leadership Institute works with school systems and emerging student leaders on leadership and financial literacy initiatives.

Sutton served as manager of the BB&T University from 2005 until 2013 where he led the bank's strategies, training and curricula for operations, credit, sales, leadership and e-learning. He also led The BB&T Banking School at Wake Forest University and the Leadership Development Program.

Sutton joined Branch Banking & Trust Company in 1992 as part of the bank's predecessor firm, Southern National Bank. He served as a branch manager, branch sales manager and financial center manager before joining the credit training department in 1996.

Currently, Sutton serves on the board of directors for the North Carolina Business Committee for Education as well as the ABA Professional Development Council.

A 1991 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA degree in Economics, Sutton is also a 2007 graduate of Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania.

Steve M. Swavely, Ph.D.

Senior Vice President, Corporate Leadership Consulting Manager

Dr. Steve Swavely, a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 20 years of experience in clinical psychology, consulting, training and coaching, leads the development and delivery of corporate leadership development consulting services to clients of The BB&T Leadership Institute.

His unique background includes extensive training and experience in neuropsychology, applied behavioral assessment, business management, and business ownership.

Prior to joining BB&T, Swavely founded and managed the Neuropsychological Assessment Laboratory in the Department of Physical Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. He also started and managed a large successful private practice, which focused on providing psychological and behavioral assessments within both clinical and business settings. As a consultant to executives seeking to increase personal performance, he applied his knowledge of psychology and decision-making processes to improve individual results.

Swavely is a sought-after speaker in the area of success psychology, and has facilitated business workshops and seminars for many audiences, including the Association of Small Business Development Centers, the American Psychological Association, and other professional organizations.

Swavely’s current professional interests focus on the application of behavioral and neuropsychological technology to leadership development, executive coaching, and team development.

Swavely earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology from Georgia State University.

Charles E. Gaskin

Senior Vice President, Talent Consulting Manager

Chuck Gaskin leads the delivery of talent consulting at The BB&T Leadership Institute. Gaskin oversees the development and delivery of services related to employee selection, retention, engagement and well-being. He is the architect of a number of innovative and highly successful employee programs for large corporations.

Gaskin joined BB&T in 1992 and has held a variety of senior management roles in the Human Resources department including positions in employee relations, selection, employment, payroll, relocation, mentoring, leadership development and retention, and employee engagement.

Under Gaskin’s leadership, BB&T reduced teller turnover by 50 percent and built a highly successful program that boosted employee engagement to the top tier in financial services. He also led BB&T’s innovative focus on employee well-being which has helped employees and their families take greater control in the most important areas of their lives.

A popular and sought-after speaker, Gaskin delivers personal motivational presentations and videos to a wide range of business audiences. Among his most popular presentations are “The Jersey,” “Living in the Moments,” and “Leading from the Head to the Heart.”

Gaskin earned a BA degree in English and Technical Writing from North Carolina State University and a Master in Business Administration from Wake Forest University with a concentration in human resources and cost accounting.

Rosalind Guerrie

Senior Vice President and Education Programs Manager

Rosalind (Ros) Guerrie leads the development and delivery of leadership programs targeted to PK-12 public school administrators for The BB&T Leadership Institute. Her focus is on customizing proven corporate programs to meet the unique needs of this significant group of leaders, developing the key competencies critical for leadership success in this field.

In prior roles at BB&T, Guerrie led training teams for operations and for leadership and professional development. In addition, she managed the BB&T University certification program, the BB&T education assistance program and the BB&T Banking School at Wake Forest University.

Guerrie came to BB&T through the 2004 acquisition of Republic Bank where she managed the learning and development department.

Throughout her career of more than 20 years as a performance improvement professional, Guerrie has designed and facilitated programs and provided consulting services for leadership development, team building, strategic planning, and change management.

She is a national member of the Association for Talent Development.

A native of Colorado, Guerrie earned a BA from Adams State University in Colorado. She earned a master’s of education in training and development from North Carolina State University. Her master's area of research was evaluation of training and performance improvement solutions.

Denise M. Green

Vice President and Administrative Services Manager

Denise Green leads the administrative services functions for The BB&T Leadership Institute.
She is responsible for financial, operations, information technology, facility and administrative services. Green directs the budgeting and accounting functions for the institute.

Green joined the institute's legacy firm, Farr Associates in 1997. She has directed the development and implementation of system and operational improvements, including streamlining and automating financial and program reporting and integrating program registration and CRM systems.

Previously, Green worked in public accounting at Arthur Andersen LLP. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BS in Business Administration and a Master of Accounting.

Donald Geletko

Vice President and Corporate Client Manager

Don Geletko manages the sales and marketing functions for The BB&T Leadership Institute.
Geletko leads a team of professionals in the implementation of sales and marketing strategies. He develops and maintains an effective sales management process, including the evaluation of successful engagements, opportunities, budgets and marketing resources for the Leadership Institute.

Geletko joined the Leadership Institute’s legacy firm, Farr Associates, in 2008. Previously, he worked in several sales positions in distribution, manufacturing and financial services. Geletko graduated from Washington and Jefferson College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Brittany M. Brown

Student Leadership Programs Manager

Brittany Brown manages the institute's student leadership programs and tools. Her focus includes financial literacy and leadership development for emerging student leaders who are attending high school or college. Brown's work encompasses collaborative school partnerships and innovative digital tools.

Brown joined BB&T in 2011. A graduate of the BB&T leadership development program, she served as a curriculum designer for the BB&T university before joining the institute.

She graduated summa cum laude with a BS in business administration and a concentration in human resources management from Meredith College.
