At The BB&T Leadership Institute, we constantly reexamine our leadership development training offerings, so we can fully meet clients’ needs. In response to those needs, we’ve created a new program for a vital but often overlooked group of organizational leaders: middle management.
Discovering Leadership Dynamics is a three-day course designed for mid-level managers who have an average of six or more years of work experience, responsibility for managing direct reports and a desire to attain career advancement. Discovering Leadership Dynamics is offered at The BB&T Leadership Institute’s Kelly S. King Center in Greensboro, North Carolina, and can also be delivered exclusively for your organization at the location of your choosing.

We offer development for leaders at several levels. Our cornerstone program, Mastering Leadership Dynamics™, helps CEOs and other high-level executives maximize their leadership ability through conscious actions, increased resilience and improved communication skills. Mastering Leadership Dynamics is a five-day program held at The Kelly S. King Center.
The work we do with leaders to help them understand and improve employee engagement falls in this category. The Employee Engagement Study, for instance, diagnoses an organization’s engagement culture and provides recommendations to improve areas where engagement is lacking.
We have deep experience in boosting employee performance and helping all types of organizations build and enact talent management plans. The Succession Planning program, for example, helped CEOs and executives prepare their organization for a stronger future; the program was tailored to each organization’s needs.
Successful teamwork leads to positive returns in an organization’s productivity, collaboration and responsiveness. Through our Team Optimization Process™ course, executive teams understand how they can improve awareness of individual and team strengths. This course lasts two days and can be held at our campus or your location.
Is your organization experiencing change now—or anticipating change in the future? Change management is a key need for most organizations, and we can lend a hand. Our Leading Change with Purpose™ program helps participants understand their change style preference and then use that style to implement initiatives successfully. Leading Change with Purpose is a two-day program and can be held at our campus or your location.

All of the courses use our leadership awareness model to address the four stages of awareness needed to successfully lead a team, department or organization. The stages are:
- Self Awareness to lead yourself
- Interpersonal Awareness to lead others
- Human Systems Awareness to lead an organization
- Strategic Awareness to lead an enterprise
